On Saturday, our first full day in Moldova, we got up and had breakfast. Zahar (local chuch pastor) took us to the Cantina, a building his church has been working on for eight years. They have a vision to feed the homeless within the community and establishing a type of orphanage with buildings where a married couple lives with three or four children.
We then headed to Cahul for some supplies, including potatoes, rice, macaroni, flour, oil, margarine, and candy, to be given to the people we will be seeing. Elaine and Ingrid with Daniel went shopping for Elaine, her suitcase was accidentally left in Bucharest.
In the afternoon we delivered food to a few families, before we went to Saturday evening service where Barry preached and Daniel interpreted for him.
After service we returned to Zahar’s for dinner where we experienced a delightful pumpkin pie like none that we have tasted before. It was a great way to end our day.
